Aboudara, Sarah

Welcome to
Dr. Aboudara's Website

Throughout the year, I will be conducting monthly classroom counseling lessons. Topics covered by the lessons will be respect, bullying, emotion management, conflict resolution, school climate, peer-interactions, responsibility, career awareness and transitions. These lessons hope to help foster social-emotional development in our students.

In addition to the classroom lessons, there will be many school-wide counseling events as well. These include The Week of Respect (October - 2nd week), School Violence Awareness Week (October - 3rd week), Six Pillars of Character Education Lunches, and Career Day. Additionally, we will continue to hand out Kangaroo Kash for students who display their B.E.S.T. (being excellent students today) behavior. Students will be able to spend their money once a month in the school store. We hope this positive behavior support program will continue to help maintain a positive and fun school climate here at Knollwood.

Lastly, this year our students are continuing to work on developing good character. Each month they are taught about a new character trait and different ways to exhibit this trait in school. At the end of each month, students are nominated to receive a reward and participate in a small celebration. The traits will be taught and practiced during the following months:

September/October: Respect
November/December: Responsibility
January: Fairness
February: Citizenship
March/April: Caring
May: Trustworthiness
June: Character All-Star

A great big thank you to all of our parents and guardians who continue to support the counseling program!
